Customizable Search Results for Google

If you have a Google account and are logged in while searching Google today, you will notice some new and very interesting features added to the results.

There are two new buttons in the upper right of each record in the search results which allows users who are logged in to “Promote” a site, which will move that site to the front page of your search, or “Delete” a site, which will remove that site from your search results.

While this does not affect results for users who are not logged in to a Google account, I would assume that the more users who “Promote” or “Delete” a site could have a direct affect on the ranking for many sites, over time. This is purely speculation on my part, but will find out soon enough.

Watch the video below for more detail about the new features and how to use them.
